: Applications are sought to fill the position of Senior Deputy Registrar, Supreme Court.

Under limited supervision you will be required to exercise statutory powers and delegated judicial powers of a Deputy registrar as well as provide high level policy and legal advice affecting the ACT Supreme Court.

To achieve this, you must demonstrate:

Experience in providing high level advice/justice administration on complex legal and procedural matters with the ability to interpret and apply the legislation whilst balancing the competing needs of stakeholders. The ability to prepare high level written and oral advice that is evidence-based to determine matters. Leadership and management skills which support the development and implementation of programs that will motivate, encourage, and support staff to develop their skills; and The ability to work together and collaborate to achieve individual, team and organisational objectives.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

This position requires a degree in laws of an Australian tertiary institution, or a comparable overseas qualification, which, in the opinion of the Chief Executive Officer and Registrar, is appropriate to the duties of the office. This position requires admission as a legal practitioner, however described, of the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory. At least five years post qualification practice experience in law is desirable. Previous experience working in a court environment is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a National Criminal History check.
