Working for an Australian group of companies that has been established since 2004, this role is within the ICT Managed Service Business providing a range of solutions and support for network, hardware, and software issues for it’s External and Internal clients.
  
In a predominantly Microsoft environment, with other related software and solutions as well as mobile devices the required individual will nee to be adaptable and willing to learn new technologies.
  
Working in a close-knit friendly team in the Sydney CBD office the successful person will be required to carry out the following:
  
Role / Duties:
  • Provide support to clients via telephone, email, remote access tools, and onsite.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Resolve incidents assigned in a timely manner ensuring customer service and client outcomes are paramount.
  • Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation and defining, documenting and enforcing system standards
  • Design and implement new solutions and improve resilience of the current environment
  • Maximise network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimisation
  • Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources
  • Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases
  • Configure routing and switching equipment, hosted IP voice services and firewalls
  • Evaluation of current systems and the identification of potential improvements regarding increases in efficiency and effectiveness
  • Installation, configuration, improvement and monitoring of new systems and the implications that their usage have on the business
  • Collaboration with team members, end users, clients, suppliers, and stakeholders with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Integration of new systems (e.g. operating systems) within existing infrastructures, emphasising advantages, and minimising disruption
  • Maintain operating systems, physical systems, and installed systems with system management to
  • Ensure timely reporting to management and accurate recording of critical information.
  
Skills & Experience required
  • Previous experience supporting Microsoft Windows servers 2008 -2022, Windows OS and MACOS, Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Intune.
  • Excellent Microsoft platform expertise including but not limited to Active Directory, Group Policy, Office 365, Intune, hybrid on-premises and cloud / Azure based solutions.
  • Experience in commercial IT technologies including Cloud based services, Networking, Application Support Coding (Powershell and Power Apps), and Server Configuration.
  • Solid background with Wintel and virtualisation and enterprise storage solutions including but not limited to VMware and Hyper-V, enterprise backup solutions, data / image replication etc.
  • Familiarity with enterprise network, wireless, server and storage hardware platforms including but not limited to HPE, Fortinet, EMC/Dell, Cisco, Ruckus, Lenovo, Aruba etc.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, Layer 3 switching, VLANs, Routing, Firewall Security, Wireless etc.
