About the Opportunity
APS5 Policy Officer/Analyst, 12-month contract with a strong possibility of renewal. This full-time position offers a flexible, hybrid work environment, ensuring a great work-life balance. While the role is based in Richmond, some in-office time is required. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to apply.
About the Team
The Analytics, Data and Actuarial Division (ADA) provides actuarial services, analytics, data management, pricing and data governance across the Agency and to key stakeholders. ADA and the Scheme Actuary are responsible for critical reporting outputs including the Annual Financial Sustainability Report (AFSR), which provides decision-makers with the evidence to manage the sustainability of the scheme.
The Investment Effectiveness Program (IEP) team sits within ADA and is exploring the benefits of scheme funding, with a particular focus on understanding the link between supports and a range of outcomes for participants, the community and the economy. The IEP uses data science methods, participant and sector engagement and qualitative research to better understand the relationship between funding and outcomes.
About the Role
This role involves conducting in-depth analysis of policies, reports, and strategies related to budgets and outcomes, supporting stakeholder consultations, and contributing to the development of impact and evaluation models. Responsibilities include preparing high-quality reports and briefings, coordinating meetings and workshops, and working independently on project components. The role requires strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, as well as the ability to synthesise complex data and work autonomously. Desirable qualifications include experience in social policy or disability services, knowledge of budget processes, and familiarity with impact evaluation methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of policies, reports, and strategies related to budgets and outcomes.
- Support stakeholder consultations to gather insights on scheme effectiveness.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of impact/evaluation modelling for the NDIS.
- Prepare high-quality reports, briefings, and other materials to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Coordinate and participate in meetings and workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Australian Citizenship
- Experience in policy analysis
- 2-3 years of experience working in government
