Description:
RATIONALE:
The ICT Technician is part of St. Philip's Christian Education Foundation Ltd's ICT Services Department and is based within our Cessnock school. This position comes under the direction of the ICT Service Delivery Manager. The ICT Technician will be required to perform, under supervision, a range of technical tasks.

This position requires the ability to work as a member of the ICT Services team, and to follow direction from senior members of the team. The ICT Technician must have good communication skills and a willingness to learn. You must have a willingness to participate in the life of the school and it's community. From time to time you may be required to work from other SPCE Schools/locations to support the ICT Team, this will be discussed on an as needs basis.

The ICT Technician will assist the Central Office in the following ways:

Personal Christian Life:
  • Promotes the vision and ethos of the organisation and its schools
  • Maintains an active involvement in a local Christian evangelical fellowship
  • Attends and participates in staff devotions and prayer meetings
  • Participates in professional development relating to the philosophy and practice of Christian Education
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
End User Device Support

Assist with the Installation and configuration of end user devices, in both a classroom and/or lab environment.
Assist with the Installation of PC/Laptop peripheral equipment, including supported IoT devices.
Assist with the Installation of applications and modify it to suit user needs.
Under direction and supervision isolate and resolve technical problems with connected hardware and/or associated software.
Troubleshoot, diagnose and rectify staff and student devices, including reinstating them to the original master image when required.
Maintain warranty and insurance cases as per the College's Helpdesk and Laptop Management Systems.
Provide advice to users on a regular basis.

General Administration

Under supervision maintain and process relevant insurance and repair documentation to all stakeholders for the organisations fleet of technological devices.
Record, log and update all repairs and stakeholder interaction in the organisation service/helpdesk environment and laptop management portal.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders via these systems in a timely manner.
Maintain good record keeping, documentation and change management processes.
Assist in the development of ICT related training packages for wider organisational stakeholder groups.
Maintain a clean working environment, including all data centres and storage facilities.
Participate in the life of the local school and its community.
Other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
A committed Christian actively involved in a local church
You will have completed or be working towards completion of a Certificate IV in Information Technology or higher certification.

Alternatively, you will have a willingness to enter and qualify for an IT Traineeship.

Ability to provide technical support to end users in a non-technological manner, assisting these users with the adoption of existing and new technologies.
A technical knowledge or understanding of Windows, Mac OS and iOS operating systems
A strong desire to learn with the ability to research and understand new ICT technologies and apply these in the context of the school environment.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
A valid drivers license.

Other valuable skills you may have:
Previous experience in sound and lighting is desirable but not essential.
The ability to listen and interpret the needs of non-technical staff and students; and respond accordingly.
