Hyundai Rotem Company (HRC) was founded in 1977 and since that time, has been leading the industry globally by delivering critical national infrastructure in over 50 countries. A leader in the Korean rail industry, HRC has succeded in developing high-speed trains and is now establishing their presence in the Australian market.

Currently, the Australian operation of HRC is working on two major projects:

  • The New Intercity Fleet (NIF) Project - a joint venture between HRC, UGL and MEA, this project is delivering a fleet of new intercity trains for operation in the NSW electrified rail network. The fleet comprises of 55 Long Units and 70 Short Units for the Newcastle, Blue Mountains, South Coast and Central Coast Lines; and
  • The Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) - a project commissioning, designing and constructing a new manufacturing facility in Torbanlea Qld and a new maintenance facility in Ormeau Qld. It includes manufacturing and delivering 65 EMU Train sets (390 cars) by the end of 2031.

Combined local and international design teams and suppliers will work together to ensure the delivery of manufacturing requirements and associated documentation to ensure that train sets locally manufactured in Australia meet the design, compliance, manufactuability, reliability, maintainability and safety specifications for the trains operational life for a minimum of at least 35 years.

Role Overview

We are currently looking for a Senior Fleet Attribution Analyst to join our growing organisation. As the Senior Fleet Attribution Analyst, you will Oversee the monitoring and interpretation of service delays and incidents in Non-Passenger Running and live operations, ensuring accurate allocation among consortium parties as per contractual agreements. You will compile investigation reports in collaboration with the Attribution Engineer and other project stakeholders. Additionally, you will work closely with consortium partners to foster a cohesive approach to investigating delays and incidents. Attendance at daily attribution meetings as the representative of HRC and leadership in the daily attribution process will also be key responsibilities.

The position is primarily based in Kangy Angy on the Central Coast. We offer flexible working arrangements, including the option for hybrid work, allowing up to three days per week from North Ryde, subject to business requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to meet and exceed business financial objectives
  • Participate in daily attribution meetings to ensure accurate allocation of operational incidents and penalties.
  • Contribute to daily VMC meetings by focusing on visual KPIs and proactively identifying risks and costs tied to delays and availability challenges.
  • Develop attribution reports with the Engineering Attributions team to manage and dispute claims.
  • Provide updates and escalate unresolved items to the attribution working group for timely resolution.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of contractual requirements within the consortium deed.
  • Demonstrate a thorough technical understanding of the necessary subsystems to effectively interpret NIF subsystem logs.
  • Oversee the integration of a data interface to track and analyze current and historical attribution data through the incident lifecycle.
  • Lead efforts to streamline attribution workflows, ensuring efficiency and alignment with consortium objectives.
  • Keep innovation and continuous improvement at the forefront of your decision-making processes.
  • Taking responsibility for actions and results while demonstrating strong leadership by fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and excellence within the team.

Selection Criteria

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in rolling stock operations and maintenance, with a focus on corrective and preventative maintenance
  • Qualification in a mechanical or electrical trade
  • Experience with attributions in a Rail environment and proficient in commercial matters
  • Ability to comprehend and manage deeds and contract requirements
  • Applied knowledge of maintenance practices, operations of rolling stock, and RAMS KPIs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including external stakeholder presentations
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, establishing effective relationships internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within teams, organising and prioritising tasks effectively
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email, with strong planning skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
