The RoleWe are seeking an influential and results-driven Executive General Manager – Store Sales & Operations to take enterprise-wide leadership of Beacon Lighting's national store network.
This senior role is responsible for driving profitable growth, operational excellence, and delivering the company store strategy across retail, trade and design sales.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role leads the national store operations, with five direct reports: four State Sales Managers and an Operations Administrator.
As a key member of the Executive Team, you will set and execute the strategic direction for our store operations, ensuring strong alignment across all stores, while remaining hands-on and closely connected to the performance and execution across our store network.
This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role, blending high-level vision with operational outcomes.You will also partner closely with the Executive General Manager – Trade and the broader Executive Team to drive growth across all customer segments, deliver integrated solutions, and strengthen Beacon's position as Australia's leading specialist lighting provider.Key responsibilities will include:Drive the Beacon Lighting Store Strategy Playbook through a unified National Retail, Trade, Design & Operations Plan, with measurable KPIs that deliver sales growth, operational excellence, and brand strength.Partner with the EGM Trade to execute and drive Beacon Lighting's Trade Strategy and develop new initiatives to support the growth of our trade targets.Influence and contribute to the broader corporate strategy as a member of the Executive Management Team.Drive store operations to ensure consistency, compliance, and continuous process improvement.Maintain a safe, efficient, and productive working environment while minimising operational risk.Champion a hands-on leadership style by remaining connected to store performance, customer experience, and operational outcomes.Test and implement new concepts to deliver a consistent and valued multi-channel customer experience across in-store, online, and omni-retail environments.Proactively monitor and manage operational risks across stock supply, production, resourcing and waste streams.Lead, coach, and develop the Store Leadership Team to build a high-performance, values-driven culture.Lead and drive succession planning and talent development, to ensure a strong leadership pipeline across the store network.Inspire and empower store and regional leaders to consistently deliver strong results and exceptional customer service.Foster a culture of safety, wellbeing, and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on "people-first" practices.Lead the development, monitoring, and management of the national retail and operations budget, ensuring sustainable sales growth and profitability are achieved year on year.Report to CEO and Board on performance, risks, opportunities, and emerging trends in the store operational environment.
