**About the role**

The Maintenance Tradesperson: Mechanical Fitter is a member of the Engineering Services team at Western Health. You will work individually or in cooperation with other team members utilising their technical skills to deliver outstanding customer service to Western Health clients and staff.

The Maintenance Fitter's role is a multi-disciplinary role that is responsible for repair and maintenance to all aspects of all Western Health buildings, equipment and machinery across multiple sites. This will involve conducting preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, projects and installations in a professional manner.

Western Health Engineering Services looks after all the facilities, plant and equipment - including biomedical equipment - that enables Western Health to provide comprehensive health care services to 800,000 people in Melbourne's west. We are proud to operate and maintain a complex, multi-campus portfolio, and are passionate about best care and the patient/caregiving experience.

Western Health operates 15 sites, with a complex portfolio of acute health care equipment, food production, building automation of course the highly critical HVAC systems serving operating theatres and isolation rooms as well as our extensive building portfolio.

We are in the process of upgrading the sophistication of mechanical plant monitoring and maintenance practices, embarking on a journey of new technologies.

Reporting to the Team Leader / Assistant Plant Manager, your advice and input will be valued and your contribution to the Engineering Services Department will be visible.

This is a very diverse role with great challengers. You will predominately work on a vast variety of differant HVAC system across the variuos sites.

You will have a can do attitude and be willing to work with a well rounded cohesive trade team.

Key responsibilities:

- Carry out all work according to applicable regulations, codes and standards.
- Alert the Engineering Services Manager to any noted or reported abnormalities in plant, machinery, equipment, and/or building faults.
- Utilise the Engineering asset management software to identify, track and record work and to enter data as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation according to all regulations and standards applicable.
- Maintain a mechanical maintenance manual and documents all actions taken.
