Purchasing Officer with SAP for Mining Client

**This Gold mining company is looking to backfill a role for a Purchasing Officer to join their small, supportive team.**

**About The Role**

Reporting to the Supply Supervisor, the Purchasing Officer is accountable for purchasing, procuring and expediting parts, equipment, services and sundries in a timely manner, to optimise mine operations.

In this role, your duties will include, but not be limited to:

- Process requisitions to orders raised and create purchase order numbers in a timely and economical manner, including checking all cost codes and order types, and amending orders of required
- Expedite outstanding purchase orders and ensure delivery dates are realistic and current
- Support other stores staff roles as required
- Compile weekly and monthly procurement reports to the Commercial Manager and other staff as requested

**About You**
- Prior experience in a similar purchasing role (SAP is essential)
- Proven high organisational skills
- Have the ability to challenge other workers to work in a safer manner
- Be a self-starter who is driven to succeed in your role.

**Ideally, we are looking for someone to start on a contract basis initially within the next couple of weeks.**
