Purchasing Officer

South Perth | 6-Month Contract with Temp-to-Perm Opportunity

This role offers a fantastic balance of contract security with the potential to transition to a permanent position, making it an exciting opportunity for an ambitious procurement professional.

About the Role

As Purchasing Officer, you'll play a key role in ensuring continuity of supply for essential goods and services. You'll be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end purchasing process, maintaining compliance with procurement policies, and working closely with suppliers to achieve high standards in cost, quality, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company and client governance standards
  • Provide frontline Pronto ERP support to site and office stakeholders
  • Assist accounts with invoice matching and discrepancy resolution
  • Liaise with suppliers to evaluate pricing, quality, service, and delivery capabilities
  • Monitor overdue orders and take expediting actions to maintain supply

About You

We are looking for someone with strong procurement knowledge and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced mining and resources environment.

Essential:

  • Proven Pronto ERP experience
  • 2-3 years' experience in a purchasing/procurement role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

Desirable:

  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field
  • Prior experience in mining/resources or a similar industrial environment
  • Ability to obtain a police clearance for occasional site travel
