We're seeking a Deputy Clinical Director for this stunning location.Excellent remuneration package up to AUD$500k dependent upon experience plus oncall.Beautiful new hospital with state-of-the-art facilities.Stunning natural attractions, coastal living and all without sacrificing the benefits of a vibrant, dynamic, metropolitan city.Over 160 education facilities including public and private schools, special education, TAFE and universities.Beautiful subtropical climate with warm winters and stunning summers.The RoleThe Deputy Clinical Director is responsible for providing strategic operational management and clinical leadership to deliver safe and quality clinical services across the care continuum for patients and to ensure that the medical workforce and psychiatry training programs are adequately resourced and developed.Gold Coast Mental Health and Specialist Services (MHSS) provides public mental health care, alcohol and other drug services across a range of community and hospital-based settings across the Gold Coast.Bed stock of close to 200 beds across acute, sub-acute and rehabilitation including secure units are spread over the Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital campuses, whilst community services are provided via outreach and clinics across teams over 7 community precincts.
The MHSS medical team is well staffed with over 65 full time equivalent (FTE) Consultants, 75 FTE Registrars and 22 FTE Resident Medical Officers.RequirementsApplicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABPN certified) or New Zealand.The Medical Board of Australia implemented a new expedited pathway to specialist registration in December 2024, eliminating the need for a specialist assessment with a specialist medical college for those with an accepted qualification in Psychiatry.
The only accepted qualifications are MRCPsych and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) after 2007.
