Clinical Director Community Psychiatrist Role

As a clinical director of community psychiatry services, you will lead a team in delivering high-quality mental health care to patients. Your role will involve providing direct psychiatric services, developing and reviewing clinical practices, and contributing to professional knowledge through presentations and publications.

  • You will provide direct psychiatric clinical services to consumers of mental health services and lead community mental health teams in delivering high-quality care to patients within the division.
  • Your expertise will be utilised to develop and review clinical practices, procedures, protocols and policies that support evidence-based, timely and seamless care for consumers within mental health services.
  • You will contribute to the body of professional knowledge through local, state, national and international meetings and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Professional development activities will be encouraged for all members of the multi-disciplinary mental health team.
  • You will adhere to the role provisions as per the Mental Health Act 2016, including completion of legal reports and attending Mental Health Review Tribunal (MHRT) meetings.
  • A culture of education, quality improvement, evidence-based practice and reflective feedback will be fostered.
  • Supervision and teaching opportunities will be provided to Registrars, Junior Medical Staff, RANCZP trainees and other professional staff within the service.
  • You will demonstrate capacity to provide leadership in relation to research, learning and evaluation activity.
