Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Arup Full time

Do you want to make a positive impact on the world? Sustainable development is at the heart of everything we do.
Seventy-five years ago, we created a home for creative thinkers seeking to solve the world's biggest challenges. Today, a collective of 16,000+ Arupians gather across the globe from 140 different countries to build a sustainable future.
At Arup, you'll do more than work — you'll shape a better world.

**About this role**
Sitting within one of four offices (Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or Perth), you would fit into an established regional technical and advisory consulting team. You will work on a range of Australian and international assignments, predominantly as the Regional Lead for Hydropower projects, and support on other related renewable energy and storage projects where required. Relevant workstreams would cover concept design, feasibility studies and front-end engineering design through to detailed design and owner's engineer capacity where applicable.
As the regional lead of Hydropower projects, your role would involve leading, directing, and scoping projects, shaping the Arup Hydropower business and mentoring and training staff on utility scale renewable energy projects linked to hydropower and dams projects. Working alongside local and regional Energy Business Leaders (and, where applicable, global teams) you will be responsible for the technical delivery and oversight of all hydropower projects.

**What will I do?**
- Lead the purposeful growth of the Hydropower business in Australasia, while assisting the other regional teams.
- Take regional responsibility for the current and future overall performance of the Hydropower business, as part of the Energy management team.
- Develop and implement longer term plans in line with the Arup business strategy in general and the Energy strategy in particular.
- Work in close collaboration with Business Leaders to build client relationships, secure pipeline and negotiate major contracts.
- Support the development, design and management of large, complex, long term projects. This will involve coordinating people, facilities and resources within tight timelines and in line with budgetary constraints.

**What will I bring?**
- Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering or similar area.
- Relevant industry experience in hydropower generation projects within a consulting business environment.
- Demonstrated experience in leading large scale energy projects and teams.
- Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership.
- Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines and related procedures including OH&S.
