About the Position
We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our specialist team in building a scalable data platform. This innovative platform will ingest high-frequency telemetry data from mobile field machines, supporting data science and machine learning workloads.
As part of this project, you'll play a pivotal role in transforming a legacy Java Spring Boot monolith into a containerized, scalable, cloud-ready architecture. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing robust components for ingesting, processing, and persisting high-frequency telemetry data.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with data scientists to host, orchestrate, and optimize workloads in Python, Scala, and Java. Additionally, you'll design and build components using technologies like Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Redis/Valkey, MQTT, and PostgreSQL.
This is an exciting opportunity to drive modernization efforts, including containerization and deployment on Kubernetes. You'll also integrate emerging technologies to optimize performance and scalability.
Design and implement scalable components for high-frequency telemetry data ingestion and processing.
Collaborate with data scientists to optimize workloads and leverage expertise in Apache Spark and similar technologies.
Drive modernization efforts, integrating emerging technologies like Flink, Trino, Kafka, DuckDB, and Dask.
Our ideal candidate has extensive experience in backend development with languages such as Java, Scala, and Python. They've worked in teams to develop large, complex applications and possess a deep understanding of streaming and batch data processing.
A strong background in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is essential. Familiarity with data lake/lakehouse architectures, especially Delta Lake, is also desirable.
