About the Role

The Chief Cybersecurity Strategist is a pivotal technical and leadership role within an organisation.

  • Lead and manage the cybersecurity function, ensuring visibility, delivery and enhancement of data platforms.
  • Provide leadership and direction, setting future strategies and guiding staff learning and development on cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in:

  • Developing and implementing action plans in response to cyber security events.
  • Escalating and coordinating the identification and response to potential malicious activities, including recovery and forensic evidence with relevant stakeholders.
  • Planning, managing, and coordinating proactive incident responses to cyber threats and intrusions across the organisation.
  • Overseeing the security posture of data platforms, including data storage, transmission, processing, presentation and represent security posture in data governance layers.
  • Liaising with vendors and coordinating revisions to service agreements to ensure alignment with the organisation's Information Security Management System (ISMS) and compliance efforts.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

The successful candidate will engage with:

  • The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) and other relevant bodies to enhance the organisation's cyber resilience.
  • Internal and external stakeholders, ensuring open communication and collaboration on security matters.
Monitoring and Evaluation

The Chief Cybersecurity Strategist will monitor and evaluate emerging data and cybersecurity threats and trends, implementing appropriate measures to address them. They will also support the organisation's compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including ISO 27001, PSPF, and other applicable frameworks.

Security Awareness and Education

The role involves promoting a culture of security awareness and education throughout the organisation, ensuring all staff understand their roles in maintaining security.
