ABOUT THE ROLE
The
Mobile Crushing Leading Hand
plays a vital leadership role in daily crushing operations, working back-to-back with the Operations Supervisor to ensure 12/7 operational continuity.
With a mechanical fitting trade background, this position combines plant operation, maintenance, and supervision duties to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective crushing performance
With a trade background as a
Mechanical Fitter
, the Leading Hand will also operate mobile plant such as loaders and water carts, perform daily inspections and basic repairs, and manage onsite spare parts and consumables.
Internally, The Leading Hand Fitter will work closely with the Supervisor for reporting and production guidance.
The role also involves liaising with the HSE Advisor for safety compliance, the Production Scheduler or Project Engineer to align output with project timelines, and the Stores and Procurement Team for sourcing parts and consumables.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Recognised Australian Trade Certificate.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3-5 years in a mining Environment.
Sound knowledge of crushers, screens, conveyors, and associated plant.
Fault finding abilities.
Knowledge of Mobile Crushing Plant.
(Highly Regarded).
Current HR License.
High competency operating front-end loaders and water trucks (tickets required).
Strong understanding of crushers, screens, conveyors, and associated plant.
Experience supervising small teams and coordinating shift activities.
Demonstrated ability in identifying potential and actual problems within the production process.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, contribute to the culture of teamwork and take on responsibility for achieving results;
Proven experience in working in a fast paced and dynamic environment with multiple conflicting deadlines;
Proven ability to liaise effectively and collaboratively, to facilitate and achieve desired outcomes and to establish and maintain strong, productive working relationships.
