**About the Role**

We are seeking a Dive Operations Supervisor to join the team at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium. The Dive Operations Supervisor is responsible for the ensuring all occupational and recreational diving on and offsite by Curatorial Department complies with legislative and Merlin dive operation requirements. This position leads, trains, develops and supports the SDX (Shark Dive Xtreme) and animal husbandry divers.

Responsibilities include:

- To aid the Curatorial department in the execution of occupational and recreational dive programs on and offsite.
- To ensure all diving at is standards expected by governmental, industry regulatory authorities and Merlin.
- Train, develop and support the Divers across Curatorial.
- Develop, where needed, rigorous Health and Safety procedures that meet Merlin H&S / Dive and local authorities' policies, standards, and requirements.
- Develop and implement procedures that maximise time management of dive operations.
- Responsible for the programmed maintenance of diving and dive safety related equipment.
- Maintenance and storage of diving documentation and databases; all written or electronic records are completed accurately daily.
- Work with Curatorial Leaders to achieve daily Curatorial dive operations goals.

The role requires ability to work one in four weekends and occasional public holidays; please also note that the roster may vary depending on operational requirements and seasonal demands.

**About You**

To succeed in this role, you will have:

- Minimum 2 years' relevant experience, as gained through significant time working within the aquarium industry.
- A thorough understanding and working knowledge of Life Support Systems as they relate to diving operations.
- Comprehensive understanding of the underwater environment and the animal inhabitants; ability to identify and resolve diving related problems.
- Advanced understanding of specialist aquarium diving maintenance and care of aquarium displays.
- Persons most suited to this role will need to be fit to spend extended hours underwater and be competent in operating and understanding the underwater waste management systems in use within the aquarium.
- ADAS Aquarium Diver is highly desired.
- Dive Industry Instructor certification from a recognized training agency.
- Current Occupational Diver Medical AS2299
- Current First Aid, Advanced Resuscitation and O2 Qualifications
- Ability to multi-task and have a flexible and adaptable approach along with the ability to meet deadlines and have demonstrated planning, organisational and time management skills.
