THE ROLE
The Solicitor role in the Child Protection Litigation Office (CPLO) will provide considered legal advice, conduct litigation, and instruct and appear on behalf of the Secretary to the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing in various courts including the Children's Court, the Supreme Court, and related jurisdictions. This position will involve travel and attendance at courts in regional and surrounding areas across Victoria to support the department and its clients.
This position will involve travel to local regional Children's Courts in the Gippsland region and Child Protection Offices and may require intrastate travel to attend/appear at courts in metro and other regional locations across Victoria to support the department and its clients. You will work predominantly with the Gippsland regional legal teams, however, in accordance with clause 19 of the VPS Agreement (where applicable), you may be asked to join a different team where business operations require this
