Job Description

Support Child Protection Teams

Child Protection Paralegals perform a vital role in supporting court-related services to Child Protection teams. Reporting to the Managing Principal Solicitor, you will be co-located at the Dandenong child protection office and may be required to attend the Child Protection Litigation Office.

The role involves providing support to child protection practitioners across the service delivery area of Southern Melbourne and working alongside child protection practitioners and lawyers. You will provide legal administrative and litigation support functions to assist child protection practitioners in the preparation of matters before the Family Division of the Children's Court of Victoria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents, forms, and correspondence
  • Redaction of confidential material in departmental records
  • Providing information and support on case preparation for contested hearings, including liaising with witnesses
  • Liaising with Children's Court registries

Selection Criteria
