Job Title: Support Professional
Description:We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Support Professional to join our team. As a key member of our statewide litigation support group, you will play a critical role in supporting our solicitors who provide legal advice, case management and representation for the child protection program.
In this dynamic and challenging role, you will be responsible for performing file and record management tasks, coordinating court listings, case allocations, barrister briefing, and assisting with legal correspondence. You will also provide wide ranging support to all staff as a member of the statewide paralegal team, including data entry into matter management system, LEX, TRIM, OurBriefings and other IT systems such as Children's Court of Victoria, CMS.
The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively. They will also be required to travel to various Children's Court locations to support legal teams.
Key Accountabilities:
- Under general direction, provide assistance with office processes including data entry and management of documentation in LEX, TRIM and other IT systems;
- Prepare matter management reports, process and follow up invoices, and assist lawyers to ensure external legal spend remains within agreed parameters;
- Answer queries, provide timely advice and undertake general follow up action as required, including correctly redirecting incoming mail and queries;
- Assist solicitors in the management of child protection litigation.
Requirements:
- Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work in a team environment;
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
