Job Opportunity

The Child Protection Litigation Office is responsible for providing legal advice and case management for the Child Protection Program. This role supports the office's teams of solicitors in performing various tasks, including file and record management, court listings, case allocations, and barrister briefing.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance with office processes, including data entry and documentation management
  • Answer queries and provide timely advice
  • Assist solicitors with child protection litigation
  • Allocate cases on the daily court list
  • Perform administrative tasks associated with file and recording management
  • Undertake court file searches and attend to court filing
  • Keep accurate records of work activities
  • Demonstrate how actions and outcomes impact clients and the department's ability to deliver services
  • Work collaboratively with paralegals and solicitors to achieve objectives

This role requires rotation to different legal teams within the office and demands attention to detail, teamwork, and effective communication skills. At value range 2, you will perform these responsibilities with increasing involvement in system improvements, guidance to others, and more complex tasks under direction.
