Why this role matters

As a Case Worker you will be responsible and accountable for the delivery to women and their accompanying children affected by domestic and family abuse and/or experiencing homelessness to achieve housing stability, improve social inclusion and be equipped for participation in the wider community.

There are multiple permanent part-time positions, 15 hours per week, located in Perth, WA.

The role you could play
- Complete and provide a phone assessment, intake, induction and orientation for new clients
- Complete intake paperwork and obtain informed consent
- Build rapport and establish effective relationships that support service delivery and help clients to feel welcome and safe
- Support case planning by discussing, promoting and assisting with case planning tasks that have been determined by the FDV internal services and the client
- Assist clients with immediate safety needs that may include mindfulness, de-escalation, hospital assistance, family support, relocation, police assistance, etc
- Take opportunity to provide family education, family violence education and parenting support
- Assist with exit planning and exit follow up as needed
- Value victim survivor feedback and participation promoting codesign strategies to inform quality improvement at a service level

What you will bring
- Relevant tertiary degree with relevant experience or associate diploma with relevant experience; or lesser formal qualifications with substantial years of relevant experience
- Minimum 1-year experience in case management, experience in the family violence sector is advantageous
- Certificate IV Community Services or related field
- Knowledge with client advocacy and working in partnership with others
- Current and valid Working with Children Check
- Current WA Drivers licence
- Current First Aid Certificate with CPR
- A willingness to undergo a National Police Check
