We are currently seeking 4x Mechanical Designers for a **12-month fixed term. **These positions can be based in our Sydney, Brisbane or Maryborough offices depending on your preference.

Our Mechanical Designers contribute to our ongoing projects, including refurbishment of passenger trains and freight locomotive works. They work in a great engineering group, focused on producing quality Mechanical design and drawings. You will have an aptitude for design and maintenance principles for the design, modification and overhaul of passenger and freight rollingstock.

You will have had exposure in preparation and production of high-quality technical mechanical design deliverables across both functional and physical design elements, derived from scope requirements and high-level Engineering design. Typical drawing production would include system design, schematic drawings and component design from small to very large assemblies.

**You will have**:

- Proven experience in a Mechanical CAD Design based role.
- Strong knowledge of relevant CAD packages, ideally Siemens NX. AutoCAD, SolidWorks and CATIA also highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of safety and its role in the design and the workplace.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to explain complex design components to all levels of the business.
- Highly developed knowledge of problem-solving procedures and methods in relation to engineering design and change management processesDesign experience in Rollingstock or related industry highly regarded.
