**About the role**:
We are looking for a Construction Manager to deliver CDC's proprietary data centre projects on time and within budget. The incumbent will oversee both delivery and governance and will be required to lead a team of Construction and Services employees as well as work closely with the nominated PCBU and Subcontractors to ensure all contributing internal and external parties can successfully deliver the builds and infrastructure installations.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Manage the flow of technical information between engineering disciplines and internal/external stakeholders involved in Construction projects.
- Manage and report to the Head of Construction on progress, forecasting, budget control, procurement and schedule updates, and company procedures/systems.
- Manage Construction Contracts on behalf of CDC.
- Liaise with any construction consultants for CDC.
- Ensure due diligence and compliance requirements are identified and addressed in third party contracts and agreements.
- Responsible and accountable for the end-to-end oversight and success of assigned CDC construction project/s.
- Management of key deliverables throughout the construction phase including value management, safety initiatives, structural adequacies, and verification of contracted works.
- Manage and report on progress, forecasting, budget control, procurement and schedule updates, and company procedures/systems.
- Maintaining compliance with specifications and relevant standards.
- Identify and act on opportunities to optimise deliver, timelines or innovation.
- Create and run meetings and progress cadence with key stakeholders.
- Work closely with CDC Service Managers and Engineers from design to handover.
- Build strong partnerships with suppliers and vendors.
- Collaborate with peers to continuously grow the capability of the function within CDC.
- Work diversely as a key part of growing highly professional CDC team to positively build upon the culture and capabilities of the collective.
- Provide cultural and operational team leadership.
- Mentor and impart knowledge to junior staff.
- Act in an ambassadorial capacity for the company.
- Lead, attend and contribute to appropriate team and stakeholder meetings and committees as required and relevant to ensure excellent stakeholder engagement and communication.
- Embrace and model CDC's DNA and Leadership Fundamentals.
- Other duties as directed from time to time.

**About you**:

- Experience as a Construction Project Manager (ideally with Data Centre or critical infrastructure buildings)
- Demonstrable successful record on 'similar' scale projects
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to quickly recognise issues or foresee and navigate risk early
- Understanding of mechanical & electrical elements throughout the base build
- Excellent written, interpersonal, communication and stakeholder skills.
- Knowledge of building methods and materials
- Skill interpreting drawings and architectural plans
- An understanding of building standards and safety regulations
- An understanding of quality control systems
- A strong focus on safety and implementation

**Essential**:

- Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA Security Clearance at Negative Vetting 1 level.
