**About the Role**
- Working closely with the National Operations Manager and National Construction Manager, and Major Loss team throughout the business
- Responsible for the overall client liaison, make safes, successful authorities and delivery of our Major Loss projects across Greater Brisbane and regional service areas.
- Mixture of site and office based work

This role will oversee the growth and success of the Major Loss team and includes an element of business development/relationship building with our current and future clients. The procurement and overall management of our subcontractors and suppliers is also a key focus for the Major Loss Construction Manager.

**Key activities (include but are not limited to the following)**:

- The management of the Major Loss estimating team to ensure they compile and deliver detailed scope of works (sometimes provided by third party consultants) and accurate budget breakdowns, to allow successful tender results and profitable delivery of construction works
- The management of successful project scheduling to ensure the team of Major Loss team of supervisors and project coordinators drive the successful delivery of multiple medium to large, domestic and commercial construction repairs
- Working with the BBS WHS team to monitor, drive and adhere to company and industry HS processes and compliance across all jobs
- Ensure contractors/suppliers adhere to company requirements in line with required works based on allocate purchase orders, industry regulations and compliance requirements
- The overall management of company funds for Major Loss projects to ensure the required level of profitability on jobs
- Sourcing and the request to procure new contractors and suppliers via company procurement process

**Key Professional Skills and Qualifications (desirable)**:

- Solid construction experience in medium to large, domestic and commercial construction repairs
- Proven skills in estimating and delivery of building repairs for both domestic and commercial properties
- Proven level of construction and people management experience
- Proven level of experience working directly with property owners, clients and key stake holders
- Ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously with conflicting priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Interpersonal skills to with an ability to deal with both internal and external customers building long term relationships.
- Able to develop business through quality service delivery.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Office MS Project, and Excel programs
- Thorough understanding the construction process, critical inspection points, permit and WHS requirements
- Ability to interpret plans and engineers' drawings
- Understanding of relevant Building codes and Australian standards.
