Are you a leader in Capital Procurement and experienced in successfully delivering major projects and maximising value?
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a dynamic team with a key role to play in our company Vision to reinvent the aluminium industry for a sustainable future.
Reporting to our Director - Global Capital Procurement, you will provide leadership to your procurement team and project teams in category management, strategic sourcing, program, and project contracting strategy development, TCO analysis, contract management, materials management and dispute resolution. In addition, you will be adding value by:
- Having a deep understanding of equipment and service supplier markets servicing capital projects in the mining and resources sector and successful sourcing and contracting strategies for various market challenges that capital projects encounter.- Working collaboratively with various business stakeholders and suppliers to help deliver Alcoa of Australia's Capex Plans.- Leading the Australian Major Capital Procurement team to deliver on annual objectives and targets.- Managing resourcing and performance levels of your team and enabling them to achieve their full potential in their respective areas of responsibility and grow in a challenging and rewarding environment.- Ensuring compliance to Alcoa's safety, environmental, quality, sustainability, procurement, legal, commercial, audit and local community policies and procedures.
You will have the opportunity to either base yourself from our Booragoon or our Bindjareb office in Pinjarra where your direct team will be located. There will be a requirement to travel to both sites and operating locations whilst utilising our Flexibility First policy that supports a hybrid work approach including working from home.
About you
To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Strategic Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.- Demonstrated experience in leading and achieving high engagement of Procurement and Contracting teams in the Capex environment.- Strong commercial and commodity, equipment and service market understanding with excellent business acumen to assess risk and identify and realise opportunities.- Excellent Project Management and cross-functional team leadership skills.- Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to communicate effectively up to Vice President level, internally and externally A solid understanding of the financial aspects of large projects/capital expenditures, cash flow, total cost of ownership,
