As part of our disaster support team, you'll work alongside Council staff and emergency services to assist with critical response and recovery efforts.
You'll bring strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to work collaboratively under pressure.
No prior experience is required – full training will be provided.

General Salary Information This position is classified as Level 1 under the Hinchinbrook Shire Council Local Government Officers (Stream A) Certified Agreement.
Casual rate is $39.173 per hour (inclusive of casual loading) + applicable shift penalties.
Key Responsibilities Respond to incoming calls from residents during disaster events in a professional, calm and empathetic manner.
Provide accurate and timely information based on official Council and disaster agency updates.
Record and log call details and service requests in Council systems (e.g. Guardian).
Escalate urgent or high-risk calls in accordance with established procedures.

Desirable Knowledge of local geography and community services in the Council area.
