Disaster Recovery Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Disaster Recovery Manager to lead our IT Disaster Recovery (DR) capability uplift program. This is a key role in ensuring our organization's ability to recover from disruptions and maintain business continuity.

About the Role:

The Disaster Recovery Manager will be responsible for managing DR processes, including testing, documentation, decision making, and project transitions. This involves developing, implementing, storing, and continuously improving DR processes and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive DR plans, procedures, and documentation
  • Manage disaster recovery testing and ensure effective decision making during project transitions

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in managing disaster recovery processes, including testing, documentation, and decision making. They will be pragmatic, flexible, self-aware, resilient, proactive, results-driven, and able to demonstrate initiative.

Requirements:
  • Practical experience in IT Disaster Recovery planning and execution
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple activities across the same timeframe
  • Excellent organisational skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholder groups, including ICT operations, technical, and business operations teams
  • Strong communication skills and ability to flex style and approach
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Microfocus ALM/Quality Centre tools, and/or Atlassian JIRA/Confluence
  • Agreement to have or obtain a baseline security clearance
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability of strategic thinking; set long-term objectives, proactively identify, and address potential risks and use resources efficiently
  • Experience of complex problem solving, making recommendations, and taking into consideration variables to achieve desired outcomes
  • Experience working on large-scale transformation programs with multiple vendors
  • Experience as a Testing Lead supporting testing, implementation, and transition to operations
  • Collaborating with System Recovery teams to develop communication/engagement plans, supporting processes, and development of new templates
  • Experience in embedding and uplifting business capabilities with an organisation
  • Knowledge of security principles, practices, and applicable standards (e.g., PSPF, ISM, ISO27001, NIST CSF etc)
  • Previous exposure to ITIL and IT Service Management
