**About the organisation**
Global Victoria is based in Melbourne and is Victoria's gateway to global economies and communities. As Victoria's trade promotion and facilitation agency, Global Victoria sits within the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions. Through its 23 international Victorian Government Trade and Investment (VGTI) offices, Global Victoria leads global engagement for Victoria by opening doors and connecting Victorian companies to global trade opportunities and by promoting the state's leading and world class capabilities to international audiences. Working through Invest Victoria, VGTI offices are also responsible for facilitating foreign investment into Victoria. Invest Victoria sits within the Department of Treasury and Finance, and is the State's lead agency for attracting foreign direct investment.

**About the role**
As Commissioner for Victoria, you will formally represent the Victorian State Government in all aspects of business, and will assist in implementing priorities across parts of Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Turkey, working closely with the Agent-General in the United Kingdom. You will build and leverage deep relationships to identify strategic initiatives, and will grow foreign direct investment for Victoria and its export pipeline, with a focus on leveraging changing economic conditions in the region that create opportunities for Victoria. Managing the operations and building small, high performing teams in Paris and Germany, while supporting the team in Dubai, you will ensure that Victoria's capability and businesses are well positioned to drive the achievement of the State's economic objectives.

**About you**
Highly qualified, globally experienced and well-regarded by industry and government, your networking and negotiation skills, persistence and patience complement your sophisticated communications and presentation skills. You have proven knowledge of local corporate decision-making processes and business, and have demonstrated experience in translating executive-level industry or investment thought leadership into tangible commercial outcomes. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, robust and culturally diverse environment, and you model respectful, effective people leadership. Your proven experience collaborating with corporate and government stakeholders at a senior level and deep networks will underpin success in broadening Victoria's business impact across Europe and beyond. Ideally a proud Victorian and multilingual (functional French), you are committed to promoting Victoria's economic capabilities to Europe and the world.
