Primary Objective of Role

The primary objective of the** Communications **Officer**is to improve Noongar Mia Mia's (NMM) engagement with external stakeholders through the effective use of external communications.

The Communications Officer will develop and execute NMM's communication strategy and plan, support delivery of external events, and manage NMM's communication platforms and stakeholder database, executed in alignment with NMM's Code of Conduct, policies and procedures.

Organisation

The **Communications **Officer** will work under the direction of the **Managing Director** (MD).

Develop Communications Strategy
- Identify and categorise NMM's stakeholders.
- Analyse stakeholders' importance and influence.
- Articulate strategies to engage key stakeholders through external communications.
- Develop a high-level communications strategy, including social media, enews, newsletters, media campaigns, presentations, annual report, etc.
- Review and agree strategy with MD and nominated leaders.
- NMM clearly identifies who it wants to communicate with and why.
- NMM uses a range of strategies to engage key stakeholders.

Develop Communications Plan
- Set clear communication objectives each year.
- Develop an annual communications plan and budget aligned with the communications strategy and annual objectives.
- Review and agree plan and budget with MD and nominated leaders.
- NMM has a well-considered plan to communicate with key stakeholders.
- NMM proactively manages its communications budget.

Execute Communications Plan
- Maintain templates for letters, reports, newsletters and presentations.
- Assist MD and managers when they are marketing and promoting NMM.
- Work with managers and staff to design and develop communication material suited to the target audience.
- Draft external communications, e.g., social media posts, e-news, newsletters, flyers, brochures, media releases, annual report, etc.
- Work alongside visual designers, copywriters, video producers, when required.
- Distribute external communications and monitor the response.
- External communications are well managed, professional, effective and timely.
- NMM's external messages are well understood.
- Engagement with NMM external communications is positive and progressively increases.
- NMM is well known and supported by its key stakeholders.
- NMM stakeholders are able to access the information they want and need.

Support Delivery of NMM External Events
- Schedule, plan, organise and deliver external events (e.g., media event, program launches, fundraisers, etc.) in collaboration with the MD.
- Develop and manage event media.
- Organise and book venues, when required.
- Liaise with event managers, when required.
- NMM events are well planned, and professionally and efficiently executed.
- Event participants develop and/or maintain a positive regard for NMM.
- NMM is well known and supported by its key stakeholders.
- More individuals and organisations offer support to NMM.

Manage Communication Platforms
- Provide advice design and content of NMM's website.
- Maintain organisation's website content.
- Manage social media content (Facebook, LinkedIn).
- Monitor website and social media analytics.
- Communication platforms are well managed, professional and effectively promote NMM.
- Engagement with NMM external communications is positive and progressively increases.
- NMM is well known and supported by its key stakeholders.
- NMM stakeholders are able to access the information they want and need.

Manage Stakeholder Database
- Develop a database of key stakeholders and contacts (CRM) in collaboration with the MD and managers.
- Maintain a record of stakeholder engagements in collaboration with the MD and managers.
- NMM actively manages its stakeholder engagements.
- NMM grows its relationship with individual and organisational partners.
- More individuals and organisations offer support to NMM.
