**Main responsibilities**
- Draft, review, and negotiate procurement contracts to ensure compliance with legal standards and company policies.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with procurement activities. Provide legal input into the risk assessment and compliance functions relating to the procurement function.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with ANZ relevant laws and regulations.
- Manage legal aspects of vendor relationships, including dispute resolution and contract enforcement.
- Serve as a legal advisor to the procurement team, offering guidance on complex legal issues.
- Handle legal disputes and claims related to procurement, working towards amicable resolutions.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on legal matters.
- Ability to work with a reasonable level of autonomy from the Group Head of Vendor Contracting.
- Working with procurement and legal teams to help make changes to and/or update standard terms and conditions.
- Supporting and providing advice on the practical implementation, dispute and termination of contracts
- Ensuring that deals are consistent with the Experian Procurement Policy (and other related policies) and any exceptions are escalated for approval at the appropriate level.
- Deliver relevant training to business units.

Experience and Skills

**More about you**
- Significant demonstrable experience drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts ideally including data and technology related agreements and in a procurement team / environment.
- Admitted to practice as a legal practitioner in Australia, holding a current practicing certificate.
- 6+ years post admission experience, either in-house or private practice.
- In-depth understanding of procurement regulations, contract law, and compliance standards.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications in procurement or contract management are a plus.
- High level of accuracy in reviewing and drafting legal documents.
- Proven ability to handle complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the procurement team and other departments.
- Flexibility to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
