**Your new role awaits**:
Based at our **Brooklyn Branch**, The Workshop Manager is a vital role in a Major Worksop Environment and is responsible for providing strong leadership and direction to a team of workshop, paint shop, yard and contractor staff who work toward ensuring all equipment is repaired, serviced and maintained in line with service standards, within budgetary requirements.
The Workshop Manager works closely with the Branch Manager to deeply understand customer demands and equipment need pipelines and establishing daily work priorities and direction for the workshop staff to meet equipment service and maintenance business requirements and priorities.
You will manage the operational performance of the branch workshop including our sites in the Metro west area, leading a well-established workforce of Mechanics.
- Demonstrate Safety Leadership by leading and contributing to Coates Hire's Safety First _ Zero Harm safety culture
- Lead daily prestart meetings relevant to service activities including safety alerts, service bulletins and safety in general
- Actively plan equipment repairs, maintenance and service needs in line with customer & business demands
- Contribute to the achievement of operational excellence in the workshop; ensure all work practices are cost effective and maximise fleet availability; R & M management in line with the branch revenue & redline targets
- Provide strong leadership and direction to a team of workshop, paint shop, yard and contractor staff who work toward ensuring all equipment is repaired, serviced, and maintained in line with service standards, within budgetary requirements
- Maintains and aligns resources and staffing levels in line business activity and maintenance demands
- Review out of service equipment lists, redline status and slow-moving assets to ensure appropriate actions are taken to maximise fleet availability
- Provide expert advice with diagnostics and customer requirements
- Ensure the accurate and timely maintenance of equipment service records
- Maintain quality relationships with internal and external stakeholders
**About you**:
To be successful in the role:

- Demonstrated leadership skills with excellent communication and can effectively coach, mentor and motivate staff
- Troubleshooting, diagnostic and preventative maintenance skills
- Strong planning, cost control and computer skills
- A desire to deliver exceptional customer service and continuous improvement
- Mechanically trade qualified would be advantageous
