Overview
Our Barry Offenders Project is looking for a dedicated individual to join their team as a
Project Worker
on a full-time (37hrs), permanent basis. Here you will provide essential support to individuals 16+ who are involved in the criminal justice system.

Barry Offenders Project provides temporary, supported accommodation for both young and older adults who have been involved in the criminal justice services. Our Pobl teams provide support to people to develop the key skills needed to prevent homelessness, improve financial capability and to develop the skills to settle in the community and achieve positive progression. You will play an essential part of our team where you'd be required to work in the project and in the community - supporting people in their own homes.

To support service users by creating and implementing realistic goals around motivation to change lifestyle and life habits like employment, education, tenancy support and staying out of criminal life.
Your Day Will Consist Of
Supporting the Management team with leadership duties
Engaging and interacting with the people we support
Conduct and write risk assessments for the people we support
Writing and following a support plan with the individual you are supporting
Delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing
Liaising with external agencies
Addressing any additional needs the people we support might have
Building community links and establishing partnerships that benefit our customers
Please note that this is a leadership role, which has targets and deadlines to meet.
Our motivation is to ensure we equip these individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse, and offending behaviour. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental and manage disputes or conflicts appropriately.
Part of your role will also include lone working and sleep-in shifts at the scheme; you will be provided with a secluded area that includes a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen facilities.
Pay and benefits
Full-Time (37hrs), Permanent position
Competitive salary of £26,072.00
Shift pattern: 1 sleep-in shift and 3 days, 9-5pm (includes weekend availability)
Essential: full driver's licence and access to a vehicle
Enhanced DBS check paid for
26 days (pro rata) holiday entitlement plus Bank holidays
