**Position Objective**

The Rural Lands Administration Officer is responsible for high level effective and efficient business and
customer support across the rural lands function.

As a representative of Council, demonstrated professionalism and a commitment to a high level of service and
continuous improvement in the best interest of Council and the Community are essential.

**Key Responsibilities**

**_Rural Lands Support _**
- _-_ Provide business support to supervisor including drafting agenda, minutes, newsletters, public
notices, correspondence and records management
- Act as first point of contact to members of the public regarding rural lands through answering and
manner
- Maintain and manage registers and financial systems as relevant to the Section including stock route
reimbursement, mapping through QGIS, statistics on saleyard usage, and entering dip and weigh
figures, yard fees provided for invoicing
- Complete and submit returns applicable to the Section including water agreement renewals,
negotiations and agreements, gravel and sand returns, quarry licencing, etc
- Administer various Queensland and Federal Government Program activities relevant to Flinders Shire
stakeholders including evaluating and reporting of progress and outcomes, coordinating community
events, liaise with landholders and other external clients, and assist in map development and
management plans with Rural Lands Coordinator
- Complete tender, quotation and advertising documents as required for section

claims

**_Governance _**
- Assist with development and implementation of rural lands operational and business plans to achieve

section goals
- Assist in the development, review and implementation of policies and procedures applicable to Rural

Lands activities
- Coordinate and resolve service requests within acceptable timeframes as determined by supervisor
- Develop, implement and report on monitoring and evaluation of section programs and projects
- Develop and maintain current registers relevant to Rural Lands activities

**_Stakeholder Engagement _**
- Develop and maintain effective relations with stakeholders, both internal and external ensuring

positive reflection on Council
- Actively promote Rural Lands and Council by participating in forums and meetings to raise awareness

of Council services, and enhance networking across Flinders Shire while addressing community
concerns
**_General _**
- Consistently complete allocated tasks to a high standard and within agreed timeframes
- Undertake other tasks up to and including your competency and level
- Actively promote the values of the organisation to staff
- Actively participate in identifying, recommending, developing and implementing measures through

which allocated tasks and responsibilities may be carried out more effectively and efficiently

- Ensure general administration and records management requirements are being met
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to internal and external customers and conduct

all transactions in an ethical and efficient manner
- Contribute positively to a supportive team-based work environment and participate in team meetings

and training sessions as required
- Ensure that requests are acted on, and reported upon in accordance with Council Policy
- Keep your supervisor and manager adequately informed on the current state of activities relevant to

your role and to highlight in advance any points likely to influence Council operations or relations with
ratepayers and/or the public
- Maintain a personal time management system to ensure deadlines are met; to ensure that other staff

of the Council are given due notice and time to
