Carers NSW is the peak organisation for carers in NSW. We are a not-for-profit organisation connecting and empowering carers across NSW and improving their quality of life through activities, programs, education and policy advice. We advocate for carers of all ages and circumstances.
Reporting to the CEO, the Communications Coordinator is responsible for the hands on and efficient delivery of Carers NSW communications strategy. This is a broad and varied role and includes organising events for Carers NSW, including activities for Carers Week.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate publicity activities, including handling event enquiries
- Implement media and communications strategies
- Create and implement promotional strategies to generate participation and engagement in Carers Week or other promotional and marketing initiatives of Carers NSW
- Prepare and distribute media releases on carer issues and Carers NSW policies and programs
- Maintain the production of a range of publications including newsletters, _Carers News _and the Carers NSW annual report
- Tertiary qualification in communications or relevant discipline coupled with experience in communications, event management or public relations
- Sound project and/or event management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently to meet deadlines and budget
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively negotiate and liaise with a wide cross section of people including internal staff, partners, service providers and the wider community
- Demonstrated experience with website maintenance and social media activities
- Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills, with a high level of proficiency in content writing
- Knowledge of design skills: Abode suite, Illustrator and Photoshop

Salary and Benefits
The annual base salary is around $108K + super. Benefits include salary packaging, flexible work arrangements, a highly supportive team environment, excellent training and development opportunities and health and wellness programs.
