The RoleThe Hunter Class Frigate Branch Supply Support Officer is responsible for providing efficient and accurate support in the management of Defence inventory, equipment and stores to ensure operational readiness.
The Role involves receiving, storing, issuing and accounting for a wide range of military supplies and equipment in accordance with Defence policies, procedures, and security requirements.The role will include but is not limited to:Assist with the Assembly Parts List (APL) and Outfit Allowance List (OAL) validation and Approval process;Conduct ERP Material Master Data Management activities;Coordinate the Receipt and verification of the Store Room Items, OAL and Depot spares from the contractor;Coordinate the development of Hazardous Material Management (CHEMALERT);Develop and action Logistics Reports;Oversee the OAL/APL MC Catalogue codification requests to the National Codification Bureau;Oversee LIMS/ERP entry accuracy;Provision of guidance and mentoring to Project team members (including APS & ADF where applicable).
About our TeamThe Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) will be one of the most advanced warships in the world with cutting edge technology and capabilities.
As Australia's largest shipbuilding project, HCF provides the foundation for Continuous Naval Shipbuilding in Australia.We are working with experts from the UK, USA, Canada and Europe to provide six frigates optimised for anti-submarine warfare to the Royal Australian Navy.
The frigates are being constructed at the Osborne Naval Shipyard, South Australia utilising the latest production technologies.You will have access to generous working conditions as an Australian Public Servant in Defence.
You will be supported in balancing work life with family and other priorities, with a variety of flexible working arrangements available.
Information on Defence employees' working conditions, including an attractive remuneration package with a generous superannuation contribution (15.4%), can be sourced from the Defence Enterprise Agreement.Our Ideal CandidateOur ideal candidate is a highly organised and detail focused individual with a strong understanding of Supply chain, inventory and logistics processes, preferably within Defence or government environment.
They are proactive problem solvers who can manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of security, safety and confidentiality.Skilled in the use of Logistics Information management systems (such as MILIS, ERP or similar), can quickly adapt to new technologies and process.
Strong communication skills - both written and verbal allow them to liaise effectively within internal teams, external suppliers, and Defence stakeholders.
Above all, they demonstrate integrity, reliability and commitment to Supporting Defence capability through efficient and accurate supply support services.Our Ideal candidate will have the following attributes and skills:Proven experience in Defence Logistics, warehousing, or Inventory Management (MILIS or ERP);Familiarity with Defence Supply Chain systems and security protocol;Strong Organisational and time-management skills;High attention to detail and accuracy;Ability to work both independently and in a team.Application Closing Date: Thursday 11 September 2025For further information please review the job information pack, reference NSSG/06974/25 on /?
