About the roleWe have an exciting opportunity for a WHS Officer to join Polyaire and play a pivotal role in supporting the health and safety of our growing business.
In this role, you will help implement, maintain, and continuously improve Polyaire's WHS Management System in line with ISO 45001, AS 4801, and relevant WHS legislation.Working closely with the Senior WHS Business Partner, site managers, and employees across our national network, you will help embed a "safety first" culture, providing practical guidance, supporting hazard and incident management, and contributing to WHS policies, systems, and program delivery.This role offers the chance to partner with leaders, employees, and external stakeholders to drive safe work practices, reduce risks, ensure compliance, and continually improve WHS performance across Polyaire's operations.You will join a supportive and collaborative team that values innovation, proactive problem-solving, and making a real impact.
The successful candidate will bring strong knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and best practice, with the ability to influence and support a safety-first culture across a multi-site business.In this role, you will support the Senior WHS Business Partner in delivering national WHS programs, strategies, and initiatives, helping Polyaire continue to grow safely and sustainably.What will my day look like?
As a WHS Officer at Polyaire, you will:Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Polyaire's WHS Management System.Maintain accurate WHS records, including incidents, inspections, hazard logs, and corrective actions.Engage with managers, supervisors, and employees through WHS consultation mechanisms and coordinate WHS Committee functions.Promote a positive, proactive safety culture, providing practical WHS guidance and hands-on support across all sites.Contribute to the development and review of WHS policies and Safe Work Procedures.Assist in creating and monitoring WHS operational plans, ensuring progress against objectives and targets.Support WHS training programs, ensuring managers and employees receive clear, effective guidance.Conduct or assist with hazard identification, incident investigations, safety inspections, and risk assessments for plant, equipment, chemicals, and manual tasks.Support contractor management, ensuring inductions and compliance requirements are met.Provide timely WHS performance reports to the Senior WHS Business Partner and management teams.Assist with workplace drug and alcohol testing in line with company procedures.Support early intervention and recovery programs for injured workers and facilitate safe return-to-work outcomes.Maintain accurate and confidential injury management and RTW records.What you will bring to the role:Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Health, Risk Management, or related discipline.Relevant WHS certification (e.g., Grad Dip WHS, or equivalent).
Minimum 3–5 years' experience in WHS roles, with exposure to multi-site or national operations.Demonstrated experience in WHS management systems, risk management, incident investigation, and compliance with Australian WHS legislation.Proven ability to provide practical WHS advice, lead safety initiatives, and influence workplace culture.Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and best practice.Ability to lead and support a "safety first" culture across multiple sites.Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing at all levels of the organisation.Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and implement practical controls.Proficiency with WHS management systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
