Mitolo Family Farms is now seeking a WHS Officer to join our Farms, Work, Health and Safety Team based in the Mallee region or Riverland. This is a rare opportunity to enhance your safety career. You will work alongside one of our experienced safety professionals on a project that will redevelop, improve and implement safety procedures and processes across our farms.

If you are just kick starting your career in safety or looking to demonstrate your experience in this field this is a great opportunity offering diversity with a dedicated WHS team.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Working with the Farm Senior WHS Advisor in the development and implementation of Work, Health & Safety Management System (WHSMS) documentation
- Conducting risk assessments
- Development of Safe Operating Procedures
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of WHS internal training
- Conducting basic internal safety inspections and audits
- Maintain WHS reporting tools and internal systems such as Protecht & LinkSafe
- Assist in incident investigation and reporting
- Working closely with farm management and employees to create a safe work environment to drive a positive safety culture

**Skills**:

- Effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to build relationships with all levels from Senior Farm Management through to Farm Operators
- Ability to interpret WHS legislation and implement as required
- Basic knowledge and understanding of current Work Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
- Certificate IV in WHS preferred but not essential.
- High attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise
- Accurate data entry with sound numerical and literacy skills
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in farming environment
