We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Facility Manager to oversee the operation and maintenance of our Australian facility, located in Perth, WA. First Mode is a rapidly growing company and our Facility Manager will need to be able to both support our operation from both facility fit out and facility sustaining perspectives. As the Facility Manager you will work closely with First Mode Australia's leadership team to determine new initiatives to build office culture that are consistent with First Mode's core values.
**Position Responsibilities**
- Lead our First Mode Australia facility team and work with our global facilities team when required
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of office space and workshop within our facility
- Work closely with Management and Project Leads to ensure facility is fit for purpose for teams to use, facility is effectively utilised, and assist with ad hoc tasks related to facility configuration, logistics, and internal-external coordination efforts
- Advise the General Manager of capacity or capability constraints, possible facility improvements, and issues with safety protocols or process improvements
- Assist the General Manager with leading potential facility expansions, new facility renovations / start up, and hiring additional staff as required
- Manage our response to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, including testing, facility reconfiguration, process development and improvement
- Manage delivery of all facility management services, lessor liaison and contract management
- Manage operation expenditure, budgeting, produce and present monthly reporting and financial reporting
- Oversee communication with landlords on any maintenance, repair or new construction as needed
- Ensure adequate supervision is provided to vendors, contractors, and guests to ensure safe operations at the facility
- Coordinating improvement details, service, and maintenance requests to First Mode approved contractors
- Ensure compliance, documentation of, and adherence to policies amongst engineering and contractor teams
**Basic Qualifications**
- 2 years minimum of proven experience in a facility management role
- Technical understanding of commercial real estate leases, management, and maintenance
- Strong communication and organisation skills while managing several competing priorities
- Experience in subcontractor procurement and management
- Experience managing company budgets relative to facilities
- Working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations
- Well-developed skills with Microsoft Office products Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint
- Able to respond quickly to change and adopt a flexible/ innovative approach
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience working with Jira and Confluence
- Previous experience working in a start-up environment
- Experience with setting up or re-configuring engineering workshops
- Interest in learning and implementing new programs relative to facilities
