They cultivate innovation through diverse perspectives and collaborative design.The Design Researcher plays a pivotal role in steering high-impact research initiatives, mentoring emerging talent, and producing influential research collateral.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong research foundation, a flair for strategic leadership, and the ability to drive collaboration across disciplines.Roles and ResponsibilitiesLead the planning and execution of strategic research programsDeliver top-tier research outputs, including reports, white papers, presentationsFacilitate workshops with internal teams and external partnersProvide oversight and support to project researchers and research staffAdvise on research methodology, ethics, and data analysisSynthesize primary and secondary data to inform design outcomesFoster and maintain partnerships with industry, government, and community organisationsLead webinars for architectural professionals aligned with national competency standardsSupervise team members including researchers, interns, and studentsMentor junior staff across research methodologies, tools, and workflowsCollaborate across disciplines to gather and analyse qualitative and quantitative dataCurate and produce polished collateral : reports, white papers, articles, visualsPresent findings via workshops, webinars, and internal engagementsDevelop research proposals and grant applicationsEnsure adherence to client-specific research policies and proceduresOversee ethical conduct, including application processes and participant consentMaintain high standards of integrity and responsible data managementSkills and ExperienceMaster's degree in a relevant field (Built Environment or Social Sciences preferred)Minimum 3 years' experience in design research within architecture or related fieldsProven ability to generate research collateral for clients and stakeholdersReference tools like EndNote, Zotero, or MendeleySkilled in qualitative and quantitative research (e.g., interviews, surveys)Experience with SurveyMonkey or QualtricsData and database management skillsFamiliarity with statistical tools (Excel, R, SPSS)Strong command of Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)Exceptional written and verbal communicationEffective in team collaboration and cross-functional engagementStrong leadership and mentoring capabilityAnalytical thinking and problem-solving mindsetAbility to manage multiple projects with precisionREF : Emily Lodola #69915Seniority levelSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionJob functionResearchIndustriesArchitecture and PlanningReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Bespoke Careers by 2xGet notified about new Design Researcher jobs in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia .
