**Part-Time Permanent**
The Uniting Church in Australia (the Church) is a large, uniquely Australian Christian denomination in Australia whose heritage lies in reformed evangelical denominations. In Queensland, the Uniting Church is comprised of 250 congregations as well as schools, colleges and large community services (such as UnitingCare Queensland and Wesley Mission Queensland).
Trinity College Queensland is an ecumenical space, a vibrant and welcoming community of learners. Our staff and faculty seek to equip young adults with tools for deep learning and for missional innovation in the world. Our goal in education is to offer neither closed nor predetermined answers but honest answers to the tough questions that life throws our way. The Activate Co-ordinator will play a key role in guiding a cohort of about a dozen young adults as they explore their beliefs and develop life-giving habits in a fun and supportive community.
The Activate (gap year) program is a year of activities and learning designed to give young adults aged 18-25 a range of opportunities to grow in their understanding and experience of the gospel and to learn more about themselves, their gifts, and their sense of purpose. The co-ordinator's role is to bring cohesion to the cohort of Activate delegates, to foster open dialogue between them, and to provide pastoral support and/or counsel to participants in their studies and broader life learning opportunities. As such, this role is vital for ensuring that Trinity's Activate program succeeds in providing participants with an enriching, community-based experience that lays the groundwork for a life of Christian maturity.
