Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for a Pre-Contracts Commercial Advisor to join our team in the Melbourne office to support the Asia
- Pacific - Eastern Region, a region which encompasses a varied portfolio of contracts across various industries in eastern Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this diverse role will perform full range of pre contract commercial activities from input to proposals preparation, commercial completion of proposals, pricing, and negotiation of commercial models, general post award administration and contract commercial close out activities.

**Responsibilities**
- Perform pre-contract tender activities including support to the proposals team in terms of performing commercial review of tender documentation, cost preparation, preparing commercial qualifications, coordinating commercial and legal qualifications
- Liaison with all key functions including Engineering, Tax, Global Mobility, Insurance, Legal, treasury and legal to ensure proposals are aligned with wood strategies and tender governance
- Assist in ensuring that the approval process is followed and that all necessary approvals are obtained.
- Ensure rate build ups and prices included within the final tender submissions are accurate, complete and are prepared on time to meet deadlines
Support in pre-tender client engagements to influence commercial strategy and prepare pricing methodology
- Review tender and contract documentation, identifying risks and promote suitable commercial mitigation strategies
- Assist with the effective handover of commercial matters from pre-contract to post contract phase of projects.
- Input to monthly commercial management reports
- Liaison with various internal customers (Tax, Legal, Insurance, Project Controls) during preparation of pre contract submissions

Skills / Qualifications:

- Completion of an undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or similar discipline
- In addition to an undergraduate degree, the individual should have work experience in the Construction, O&G industry or similar which would demonstrate exposure to Tendering, key contracting concepts, principles and commercial risk management
- Demonstrate commitment to Wood and client Core Values
- Demonstrate commitment to Wood Commercial Process and Procedures
- Excellent communication skills, written, oral and presentation
- Ability to work as part of a team and manage others and to prioritise key tasks and solve problems for the team
- Strong user of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
