About the Role:
Postdoctoral Researcher in Metallomics and Chemical Biology
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in Metallomics and Chemical Biology. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in metallomics and chemical biology, including the preparation of responsive fluorescent sensors for application in biological studies.
This project is funded by a grant from the Human Frontier for Science Program and involves collaboration with researchers from different disciplines across four countries.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD (or near completion) in organic chemistry, chemical biology, protein engineering or a closely related discipline, with experience in the synthesis, purification and characterization of organic molecules.
Experience in the use of research methodologies relevant to metallomics.
Experience in the preparation and deployment of fluorescent proteins.
The successful candidate will have proven ability to conduct research/scholarly activities under limited supervision either independently or as a member of a team, and experience in student supervision at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct research in metallomics and chemical biology.
Publish research papers.
Assist with grant writing and publishing original work.
Support teaching activities and the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Requirements:
PhD (or near completion) in organic chemistry, chemical biology, protein engineering or a closely related discipline.
Experience in the synthesis, purification and characterization of organic molecules.
Experience in the use of research methodologies relevant to metallomics.
Proven ability to conduct research/scholarly activities under limited supervision either independently or as a member of a team.
Experience in student supervision at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the preparation and deployment of fluorescent proteins.
Experience in biological studies.
