Job Position

We are seeking a talented Medicinal Chemist to join our research team.

The successful candidate will contribute to the advancement of medicinal chemistry through defined projects, working closely with our experts in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research in medicinal chemistry to enhance research outcomes.
  • Design, synthesize, and purify targeted compounds and their analogues for scholarly output recognition.
  • Undertake specific research project/s under the guidance of a research leader and contribute to the development of research activities.
  • Make structural changes to synthesized molecules to optimize biological activity and perform structure-activity relationship data analyses as required.
  • Draft manuscripts to disseminate research outcomes in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Participate in conferences and/or workshops and present research findings as required.
  • Assist with supervision of Honours and PhD research students in the research area.
  • Liaise with industry partners and participate in meetings and discussions as required.

Requirements:

  • PhD in organic chemistry or a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
  • Proven commitment to keeping up-to-date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake high-quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
  • Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships.
