Our Science and Insights branch is currently seeking to appoint two Assistant Scientist Analytical Chemistry to join the Environmental Forensics Team.

About the role
As an Assistant Scientist, your primary responsibility will be to deliver analytical chemistry and/or forensics services to environmental programs and projects with a focus on chemical pollutants analysis. Typical projects may involve preparing and analysing environmental samples using a range of advanced analytical instrumentations. You will support and collaborate closely with other scientists within the team to deliver projects required scientific data and advice.
About You
To be successful in these roles, you must have:
- Relevant science degree and knowledge of environmental chemistry and/or environmental forensics.
- Ability to assist in the delivery of rigorous science projects in environmental chemistry and/or environmental forensics.
- Experience with maintaining and troubleshooting advanced analytical chemistry instruments.
- Ability to work in collaboration with team members to deliver customer focused results.
Essential Requirements
- Scientific qualification, knowledge and experience of environmental chemistry and/or analytical chemistry.

The Chemical Forensics team, together with the Ecotoxicology team forms the Environmental Forensics Unit. The role of the Environmental Forensics Unit is to investigate pollution incidents, provide expert advice, and conduct research to protect the New South Wales community, economy and environment from the risk posed by current and legacy environmental contaminants.
