Overview
Bereavement Counsellor CYPRESS at Anglicare WA. 10 month contract, 0.6 FTE, outreach across the Perth metro. Flexible work days with a designated team meeting day on Wednesday.
Responsibilities
Provide individual counselling to children and young people bereaved through suicide using a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and person-centred approach.
Facilitate support groups and workshops for children, young people, and families.
Collaborate with the CYPRESS team and contribute to community education to increase awareness about the impact of suicide.
Work on outreach in the Perth metro area (mileage reimbursement applies).
Qualifications
Tertiary degree in counselling, psychology or Masters in a related discipline; eligible for professional association membership.
Substantial counselling experience with children, young people, families and communities bereaved by suicide or affected by trauma.
Experience and skills in facilitating groups and training programs.
Knowledge of current theories, practice, and literature in suicide bereavement for children and young people.
Strong ability to build rapport and engage with children and young people.
Ability to work independently, manage time well, and be flexible around working times and locations (including outreach).
Solid administrative skills with client management systems and timely input of case notes.
Current National Police Clearance (valid within one year), WA Working with Children Check, and WA Driver's Licence with access to a roadworthy vehicle.

Salary: $99,469.50 per annum, pro-rata for part time, plus super.
