**Human Resources Manager Position Description**
**Who is Karta?**

Our start-up is well funded, and as we scale, we are bringing together a collective of like-minded people. Our platform is scalable globally and bolstered by a multi-year strategic partnership with Mastercard. Recognising the opportunity, CommBank formed a new strategic partnership with Karta in October 2021.
To support our growth, we are seeking a Human Resources to help us build, manage and retain a high performing Karta team. Reporting initially to co-CEO's of Karta, you will be entrusted with an ongoing quest to represent the broader team. As the business evolves, you will refine and/or scale our processes, implement new solutions, and help grow the team. You'll be instrumental in building and supporting a collaborative, cohesive culture that is team-driven, values-driven, and maintains and builds on our culture as we quickly grow our team.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Own the hiring and onboarding process at Karta as we grow our team.
- Partner with stakeholders across the company to lead recruiting and retention efforts and create leadership talent development programs.
- Manage the administration for the employee lifecycle as they need to be hands on in this regard
- Develop programs to engage and connect with Karta team members.
- Support the company's leaders focus on building a high-performance culture.
- Create programs, support resources and systems to allow Karta team members to be their best.
- Develop and articulate business cases for people focused initiatives.
- Day to day liaison person with key HR related partners.
- Manage key human resources systems and processes for the organization.
- A happy, healthy, and safe work environment

**What you can demonstrate**:
- 5+ years of general human resources experience including experience building systems and processes from the ground up.
- An undergraduate degree is required, preferably in human resources, business administration or a relevant field.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and scaling a team during a growth stage is required; Fin-tech start-up experience is a plus.
- Strong grasp of which human resources processes to prioritize for a growing company.
- A deep sense of empathy and understanding for the needs of diverse groups of people.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Relentlessly positive attitude, good sense of humour and the ability to have fun at work.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Adept & comfortable at partnering with senior leaders to ensure both the business' and team members' needs are met.
- Ready and willing to initiate difficult conversations and share different points of view with a solutions first mindset.
**Your qualifications**:
- Proven experience working in a fast moving, fast paced fintech start up
- Fintech/Payments industry exposure is preferred
- Previous experience with Employment Hero, Breezy, LinkedIn Recruiter or other similar tools.

**For the first 3 months you will**:
- Enjoy your onboarding experience and become familiar with our strategic vision and product roadmaps.
- Make the time to understand environment, our culture, values and current ways of working.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders and peers across the team.
- Implement quick wins on strengthening the current HR plan.
- Make recommendations that will improve our approach to People & Culture.
- Make your first appointments for the team, hitting fill benchmarks within the first few months.
