We're looking for a Waste Operations Assistant to join our team working at our waste processing facility in Sydney. If you're looking for a positive and engaged workplace with satisfying and meaningful work, this could be the opportunity for you.

The role of the Waste Operations Assistant is to assist the Waste Operator in the daily operations of the waste processing facility. Tasks include but are not limited to:

- Maintaining waste management facilities and equipment to agreed standards (e.g. sweeping and mopping concrete slab, hosing and scrubbing equipment)
- Carrying out routine and heavy duty cleaning tasks
- Stocking and maintaining equipment and supplies
- Assisting with manual handling of solid and liquid organic (food) waste material
- Assisting in manually removing contaminants from the waste stream e.g. glass and metal
- Following all work health and safety regulations
- Carrying out all duties in line with Goterra's policies, procedures and processes
- Other duties as reasonably directed

- Well developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact positively with other team members

- The ability to perform allocated duties with mínimal supervision, while also adhering to agreed protocols
- The ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, e.g. some lifting of cleaning equipment, being outdoors on your feet for the duration of the shift, and working directly with food waste
- A valid Australian driver's licence and reliable transport
