**The Role**:
**An exciting opportunity has arisen to join St Basil's Aged Care organisation as a member of our Leadership and Lifestyle (Living Well) Team.
As a Engagement and Wellbeing Lead, you will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and quality of life for our residents through the design and delivery of engaging lifestyle programs. You will work both independently and as part of a team, thriving in a fast-paced environment where your efforts make a tangible difference to our residents.
**What you'll do and be responsible for**:
- **Activity Planning**: Consult, develop, design, implement and evaluate a comprehensive wellbeing and meaningful engagement program / calendar tailored to the residents' interests, abilities, and preferences in each 'house' area.
- **Whole Site Activities and Community Activities**:Coordinate and lead day to day living well / engagement related activities relating to the whole site, including bus trips, and community related activities
- **Resident Assessments**:Create and review Lifestyle Assessments to ensure needs-based programming is occurring. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care and clinical team to ensure lifestyle programs align with individual resident care plans.
- **Documentation**:Maintain detailed records and provide regular reporting on resident participation and program outcomes, including updating Lifestyle components of a resident's Care Plan.
- **Program Implementation**: Oversee the execution of planned activities and events. Ensure that the activities are well-organised, safe, and inclusive, allowing all residents to participate to the maximum of their abilities. Provide direction in the program as required for Living Well Team Members, students, volunteers, and other staff.
- **Continuous improvement**:Contribute to the continuous improvement of the lifestyle program through feedback, research and innovation; working in consultation with the residents, family members, clinical team and lifestyle team to ensure innovative, creative and dynamic approaches are provided by meeting the changing needs of our residents.
- **Leadership**:Provide ongoing support and training to new and existing care staff and lifestyle staff, promoting a person-centred approach culture. Support the lifestyle team and leaders in each 'house' area to create a home like environment and deliver a high-quality diverse activity programme for residents.
**What you'll need to succeed**:
- **Certificate IV in Lifestyle and Leisure**, or relevant qualifications in leisure, recreation, occupational therapy or a related field
- **Excellent communication and interpersonal skills** with the ability to connect with residents and their families
- **Demonstrated experience** in the design and delivery of lifestyle programs in an aged care or community setting
- **Strong understanding** of the physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of elderly people.
- An appreciation and understanding of cultural diversity
- **Creativity and resourcefulness** in developing engaging and meaningful activities
- **Commitment to person-centred care** and the promotion of independence and wellbeing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
