
Child Wellbeing Unit Support Officer

**Child Wellbeing Unit Support Officers - NSW Department of Education - 8 x roles available**:
- $40 - 45 per hour + super
- Immediate start - Initial 6 month contract with likely extension
- Parramatta location/Hybrid
- Monday to Friday, 35-40 hours per week
- Staggered starting times, 7am - 6pm
- Call Centre experience required
- Working with Children Check required before starting
The Child Wellbeing Unit Support Officer triages incoming calls ensuring reports are adequately assessed in a timely manner and in line with legislation as well as providing administrative and support services to the Child Wellbeing Unit team. You will be working within a high performing call centre team environment, and playing a fundamental role in triaging child protection related contact with the Child Wellbeing Unit, resolving enquiries in the first instance where possible.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Respond to Departmental enquiries to the Child Wellbeing Unit in regards to child protection related matters
- Record information accurately and in a timely manner and escalate or redirect issues as required to ensure the provision of accurate information and timely response
- Provide a range of administrative and support services, including records management, routine correspondence, meeting and event coordination, to support the effective operation of the Child Wellbeing Unit
- Collect and compile information for, and prepare documentation and correspondence in line with quality and organisational requirements, to support information flow and inform decision making
- Update and maintain records and databases, complying with administrative systems and processes, to ensure that all information is accurate, stored correctly and accessible
**Skills/Experience**:
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Awareness of maintaining the confidentiality and handling sensitive information
- Strong computer skills (Experience with ChildStory is beneficial but not a requirement)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Child protection experience or exposure is beneficial
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet non negotiable deadlines
- Working with Children check required
