**Position Purpose**:
To provide Behaviour Support services that have a significant positive impact on the lives of people with ABI and their families.
**Key Result Areas**:
Clinical service delivery, Interdisciplinary Practice and Teamwork, Advancement of Brain Injury Services, Quality and Safety, Staff and student supervision and Accountability and Organisational Culture.
**Key Challenges**:
Maintaining a complex caseload (in line with level of experience) and a minimum 5 billable hours per working day.
**Position Summary**:
Working as part of the Behaviour Support team and the wider interdisciplinary team, the Behaviour Support Practitioner is responsible for the provision of Behaviour Support services to community-based adults with Acquired Brain Injury.

**Duties include**:
- Providing high quality Behaviour Support service that meets both the needs of people with ABI, their families, and staff working as part of their team.
- Maintaining high level clinical standards for own caseload and in the supervision of students and staff.
- Implementing innovative clinical practices.
- Ensuring that the Behaviour Support Service is delivered in accordance with the NDIS and other applicable Practice Standards and Quality Indicators to promote the safety and progress of all people living with ABI who receive a service related to Behaviour Support.

**Effectively design, implement and monitor Behaviour Support Plans for people living with ABI.**

- Provide Behaviour Support services that result in the effective provision of Behaviour Support services to people with ABI.
- Provide Behaviour Support practice that is demonstrably effective in reducing behaviours of concern and increasing quality of life of people living with ABI.
**Maintaining professional standards and meet organisational requirements in all reporting,**
**recording and administrative practices.**
Position holder is successful when:
- Ensure the Behaviour Support service is delivered in a safe, professional manner and meets all requirements as per the NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators.
- Behaviour support services and their contribution to assisting people with ABI and their families are appropriately promoted within and externally to the organisation.

- Brain Injury SA staff have access to specialist Behaviour Support advice and service information as required.
- Therapeutic disciplines work collaboratively to identify and best address the needs of
participants, enhance service delivery outcomes and influence service development.
- Students of all disciplines receive support, training and appropriate role modelling for professional and accountable practice from all qualified staff.
**Team Participation.**
Position holder is successful when:
- Discipline lead is supported in providing service development and achieving best practice through excellence in collaboration and communication.
- Opportunities to participate in and contribute to the broader staff team and work of Brain Injury SA are undertaken positively and constructively.
- Active engagement with BISA team is sought through contribution to organisational
functions/events or operational committees (internally or externally focused).
- Support the involvement of relevant stakeholders in service provision as required.
**Key Result Area 3: Advancement of brain injury services**:

**Contributing to the way BISA responds to the needs of the ABI community through participation and contribution to discussions, analysis, and training sessions.**
